This sign would be perfect for a rustic wedding! And free shipping? You really can’t get any better than this. The best part is that you can hang it up in your home after the wedding is over. It’s a gift that keeps on giving 😉 look on my etsy page to find other hot wedding gift items. We drink a lot of wine in this house, which is why we have so much fun creating new projects with wine corks. We used these for our wedding and it’s still one of my favorite little details of our special day!

My husband and I made these wine cork initials for our wedding. It was perfect considering our wedding was at a local winery. We loved it so much that we had to display it above our wine bar in our new home. I decided why not try to sell these babies?! I have plenty of left-over wine corks and me and Michael actually had a lot of fun making these together. So spread the word, share it, like it, comment it, whatever you can do and let me know if you have any questions and if you are interested in purchasing.

Great Buy of the Week: Marshall’s

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Homegoods Freak (I’d like to thank my BFF Coni for  introducing me to these amazing stores). yesterday I found a great buy, I was a little too excited for it, considering it’s a cleaning product. Mrs. Meyers cleaning products are my favorite. I have 1 year old and I am constantly spraying the kitchen countertops and his high-chair with this product. It is guilt-free and mother approved. This product is free of parables and phthalates, glycol solvents, formaldehyde, and artificial colors. What more can you ask for? I used to purchase the product at Target for $3.99 BUT yesterday I found it at Marshall’s for $1.99! That’s 50% off!! You’re welcome and enjoy!

what I have learned about marriage in 2months

I made the best decision 2 months ago to say “I Do” and marry my best friend. I have known Michael since kindergarten. He lived down the street from me for pretty much my whole life. We have had many changes in the last 2 months. We closed escrow and finally got to move into our home. 2 weeks ago we got our puppy, Gunny. With these big changes, I have learned a lot about marriage and the key to keeping it successful.

  1. Buying a new home has taught me about compromise. What happens when you can’t agree on a paint color? You compromise. What happens when you turn into a neat freak and expect your husband to feel the same? Compromise. The house is going to be dirty sometimes. Just let it go.  My husband really wanted a room for all of his sports memorabilia. I gave him the garage even though I really wanted it for my car! He let me have my woman’s cave, too 🙂 yes, those exist.
  2. Getting a puppy taught me to stop overthinking everything. Michael had his mind set on a puppy. We had just moved into our home and I fought it hard. I came up with every excuse why we shouldn’t get a dog. Sometimes you just have to let some things go and enjoy the ride!  I finally agreed to the pup and it made Michael so happy. The day we brought Gunny home, I fell in love and regret denying it so bad in the beginning. Now I am the happiest I have ever been! Yes, it is annoying cleaning up after a puppy and a baby [and a husband] but seeing that smile on Carter’s face when he saw Gunny for the first time was all worth it. And now he has a forever friend. I look forward to watching them grow up together.
  3. Date nights are a MUST. My favorite part of the day is when Carter and Gunny are asleep at night and me and the hubs get to wind down, relax, drink some wine and watch a movie. We pretty much do this every night
  4. Let your wife sleep in. Research shows that women need more sleep than men.  I can just tell a big difference in my attitude when I’m tired.  I feel like a completely new woman when my husband gets up early to take care of the baby and the pup. So husbands, do yourself a huge favor and let your woman sleep. You will not regret it. My own personal guarantee.

Now, I don’t want to anyone to think that I have a perfect marriage. Does that even exist? We argue. We get annoyed of each other. Sometimes I don’t know if I want punch him in the face really hard or have another one of his babies.. Haha but I really couldn’t see myself with anyone else. I love my husband so much and appreciate everything he does for our family. He is the best husband and truly an amazing father! If you’re reading this Michael- happy 2 month anniversary. I love you and I will love you for eternity.

I love our kitchen table. It is warm, inviting and the perfect size for our little family. I knew I wanted a white table but boy was that hard to find. Every furniture store I went to were all sold out of white tables.  Are those white farmer-style white tables the “in” now?
What do you think of a white kitchen table versus a dark wooden one?

Kitchen table from local furniture store in Manteca, ca – $480

Chandelier from Costco- $15 (super cheap)

Vase from ikea- $3

Pink threshold plates from target- $8

Place mats- bed bath & beyond- $8

Curtains- $20 from Big Lots

DIY fireplace project

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

If you’re anything like me than you would just leave the fireplace alone because painting it is just too scary. I started this project with a lot of hesitation. I still wasn’t sure I made the right decision until the paint dried and I FELL IN LOVE.

This White-washed painted fireplace took me around 5 hours total to complete.

MATERIALS:

  1. WHITE Water-Based Paint- I had extra from painting the ceilings but you really don’t need that much
  2. 1 paint brush
  3. 1 paint stir sticks (free from Home Depot)
  4. Water

Directions:

  1. First I scrubbed the HECK out that fireplace with just plain water.
  2. Make sure the fireplace is dry.
  3. Add 1/2 water and 1/2 white paint into small paint bucket. Stir.
  4. Start painting that Fireplace!
  5. After your first coat, wait around 1 hr to start your 2nd coat. I only needed 3 coats for my fireplace but if you have a darker red brick then you may need to add another coat or two.

let me know if you have any questions! This was actually a really fun and easy DIY project. Make sure to get in the cracks, it is easy to skip through it while painting.  I started from top to bottom. I just can’t wait to add some finishing touches (a mantel would be nice!)
