This sign would be perfect for a rustic wedding! And free shipping? You really can’t get any better than this. The best part is that you can hang it up in your home after the wedding is over. It’s a gift that keeps on giving 😉 look on my etsy page to find other hot wedding gift items. We drink a lot of wine in this house, which is why we have so much fun creating new projects with wine corks. We used these for our wedding and it’s still one of my favorite little details of our special day!
I hesitated getting a red rose bouquet. I thought it might be too old school, 80’s type wedding style. Looking back and it really was the perfect pop of color to add to my ‘red, white and blue’ wedding theme. my husband is a Marine, and we got married on Memorial Day weekend, #kindaperfect. I will be posting more pictures as soon as I get them! Let me know what you think! And yes, I opted for no, zip, zero greenery! Just red roses. Loved the simplicity of it. A little flower shop In my town #flowerpavilion made this creation possible!
I made the best decision 2 months ago to say “I Do” and marry my best friend. I have known Michael since kindergarten. He lived down the street from me for pretty much my whole life. We have had many changes in the last 2 months. We closed escrow and finally got to move into our home. 2 weeks ago we got our puppy, Gunny. With these big changes, I have learned a lot about marriage and the key to keeping it successful.
- Buying a new home has taught me about compromise. What happens when you can’t agree on a paint color? You compromise. What happens when you turn into a neat freak and expect your husband to feel the same? Compromise. The house is going to be dirty sometimes. Just let it go. My husband really wanted a room for all of his sports memorabilia. I gave him the garage even though I really wanted it for my car! He let me have my woman’s cave, too 🙂 yes, those exist.
- Getting a puppy taught me to stop overthinking everything. Michael had his mind set on a puppy. We had just moved into our home and I fought it hard. I came up with every excuse why we shouldn’t get a dog. Sometimes you just have to let some things go and enjoy the ride! I finally agreed to the pup and it made Michael so happy. The day we brought Gunny home, I fell in love and regret denying it so bad in the beginning. Now I am the happiest I have ever been! Yes, it is annoying cleaning up after a puppy and a baby [and a husband] but seeing that smile on Carter’s face when he saw Gunny for the first time was all worth it. And now he has a forever friend. I look forward to watching them grow up together.
- Date nights are a MUST. My favorite part of the day is when Carter and Gunny are asleep at night and me and the hubs get to wind down, relax, drink some wine and watch a movie. We pretty much do this every night
- Let your wife sleep in. Research shows that women need more sleep than men. I can just tell a big difference in my attitude when I’m tired. I feel like a completely new woman when my husband gets up early to take care of the baby and the pup. So husbands, do yourself a huge favor and let your woman sleep. You will not regret it. My own personal guarantee.
Now, I don’t want to anyone to think that I have a perfect marriage. Does that even exist? We argue. We get annoyed of each other. Sometimes I don’t know if I want punch him in the face really hard or have another one of his babies.. Haha but I really couldn’t see myself with anyone else. I love my husband so much and appreciate everything he does for our family. He is the best husband and truly an amazing father! If you’re reading this Michael- happy 2 month anniversary. I love you and I will love you for eternity.
